Arrive in Kochi (pronounced Cochin) which is a vibrant city on the south-west coast of the Indian peninsula in the breathtakingly scenic and prosperous state of Kerala, hailed as 'God's Own Country'.
Your introduction of Kochi will begin with a free and easy tour of Fort Kochi starting with a visit to the Chinese Fishing Nets which are distinctly unique to Cochin. Many fishermen earn their livelihood by fishing using these massive nets.
Day 2: Cochin Highlights
On day 2 you will visit the St. Francis Church, the first church in India to be built in the European architectural style. Counted as one of the heritage edifices of Kerala, this church is one of the finest and impressive churches in India.
End the tour with a visit of the Jewish Synagogue built by the prosperous Jewish trading community in 1568. The interiors offers more beautiful surprises, a Belgium chandelier, the great scrolls of the Old Testament, and the copper plates on which were recorded the grants of privilege made by the Cochin rulers to the Jewish community in the 4th century.
Day 3: Exploring Things From The Ordinary
If you are an experience seeker, you can walk or cycle right into the village and soak in the local life. Or if you’re looking for something more personal, and experiential, we could arrange for you to join a farmer in his fields, the fisherman on the lake, the toddy tapper up the tree or the womenfolk in their local festivals.
You could also hop on a canoe and sail past paddy fields, coconut farms and small villages, taking in the scenic lands...
Day 4: Exploring Things From The Ordinary
Embark on a guided walk through Fort Kochi, you will find bastions, churches and mansions built by the British, Dutch and the Portuguese over 500 years ago. Get lost in the rich history of and splendor of this acropolis.
Embark on a 2-hour sunset harbor cruise as you enjoy the quietness of the sea, passing by some of the islands around Kochi, admire the beautiful scenery and nature's blessings. Watch the sunset over the city known as the Queen of the Arabian Sea.
Day 5: Cochin / Mararikulam
After a relaxed breakfast transfer to Mararikulam where you will be reserved for 7 night stay. The village of Maraikulam lies on a forgotten shore, where the Indian Ocean becomes the Arabian Sea. It was here that you will find all our answers. A beach is a beach is a beach. Until you can seek out its living heart, the culture that calls it home.
Inspired by this One could say that there are two kinds of beach resorts in the world. Most commonly are those raucous, neon-lit places of water sports, midnight raves and trinket stores. Here at the Marari, the beach, the fishing village and the resort stays coalesce to provide you a holistic experience, seldom available in other destinations.
Day 5-11: Seven Nights Yoga Wellness
For the next 7 days (Day 5 - Day 11) you will engage in yoga wellness Program at Carnoustie. The Yoga Sutras - Pathanjali's sacred text on yogic philosophy, show us how to discover our true selves and appreciate every moment of life, particularly when it gets overwhelming.
They teach us to train our mind, body and soul to achieve perfect health and mental peace.
